Barcolana Waterpolo returns on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October 2026, bringing international water polo to Barcolana week. This year's event features a 4x4 tournament at the Bruno Bianchi Swimming Pool, with 12 international teams, around 100 participants and two pitches in play at the same time.

The programme gets under way on Saturday 3 October, from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm, with the group stage, followed on Sunday 4 October, from 9.00 am to 12 noon, by the finals and prize-giving ceremony for the top three teams. From 1.00 pm, weather permitting, Barcolana Waterpolo will move into the heart of the city for an exhibition match on the floating pitch in the San Giusto Basin, in front of Piazza Unità.

Each team will consist of eight athletes, with matches lasting approximately 20 minutes. The entry fee is €150 per team: the entry form must be completed and sent to regate@svbg.it by 20 September. All participants will receive an official event gift, while prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

Barcolana Waterpolo is coordinated and organised by Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano – Barcolana, HaBaWaBa and Waterpolo Project, in collaboration with Pallanuoto Trieste.
