53rd Italian Meteor Class Championship

From 6 to 9 October 2026, Trieste will once again host the Italian Meteor Class Championship, organised by the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano and the Società Nautica Grignano on behalf of the Italian Sailing Federation. Racing will take place in the waters off Miramare Castle, with windward-leeward courses scheduled for up to 10 races over four days of competition.

Programme

• Sunday 4 and Monday 5 October – Registration completion and measurement checks; Opening Ceremony at 6.30 pm in the Barcolana Village on the Trieste waterfront.
• Tuesday 6 October – Skippers’ Briefing at 10.00 am; warning signal for the first race at 12.55 pm; Crew Party after racing.
• Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 October – Racing, with leaders’ bibs presented and daily prize-giving ceremonies for the day's top performers; crew dinner on Wednesday evening.
• Friday 9 October – Final races followed by the Prize-Giving Ceremony at 6.30 pm in the Barcolana Village on the Trieste waterfront.
