Barcolana Classic by Siad: registrations per starting september 16

Everything is ready in Trieste for the Barcolana Classic By SIAD, the regatta that takes place every year on the eve of the Barcolana (this year on October 10) and that makes the vintage boats, classics and the "Spirit of Tradition" the protagonists. The next edition will see the operational collaboration of the Yacht Club Hannibal which, together with the Società Velica of Barcola and Grignano, will provide moorings and logistical support. "We thank” - said SVBG President Mitja Gialuz – “the Adriaco Yacht Club that for many years has supported us in organizing the event. We now consider the Barcolana Classic by SIAD a historic regatta, which was not stopped by Covid. The boats this year will be housed in the moorings available to the Svbg along the banks of Trieste and at the Yacht club Hannibal, protecting and highlighting these beautiful boats that deserve to be a central part of the party".

Organized by the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano, the event is scheduled at sea as always, with years of tradition and maritime passion coming together to celebrate the classic hulls: On Saturday, October 10, at 10:30, the boats registered in the regatta will parade through the San Giusto basin to be admired, then will take part in the regatta, in a straightaway or triangle - depending on the weather - in the Gulf of Trieste.

The event has many benefits for participants. Starting with the mooring: The hulls registered in the Barcolana Classic by SIAD will be eligible for free moorings from Friday 10 to Monday 12 October. With the registration of the Barcolana Classic, the hulls - if in accordance with the Barcolana Regatta Bando - will also be enrolled free of charge for Barcolana52 and the owners will receive the free gift bag directly at home; included inside is the Barcolana52 polo and other gadgets.

Also new, regarding the award ceremony of the Barcolana Classic by SIAD, this year it will take place together with the award ceremony of Barcolana52, with the aim of celebrating in a single festival the great protagonists of all the events connected to Barcolana.

With regard to the request for mooring, since the number of spaces available are limited, it is necessary for the owners to book in a timely fashion, contacting the Segreteria Regate of the Società Velica of Barcola and Grignano, by email at regate@svbg.it.
