1609 registrations

Pedote, Tita and Banti at the Barcolana

Another day of Bora, with gusts exceeding 55 knots, forced the Villaggio Barcolana to keep its stands shut, while all the sea activities have been cancelled. The one exception, and it couldn’t have been otherwise due to its adrenaline-fuelled vocation, was the Barcolana Fun Siram Veolia with its kite surfers who glided spectacularly over the waters of Grado, where the Bora wasn’t quite so intense.
The most recent weather forecasts foresee a calming of the winds starting from tomorrow, in the late morning.
The wind, however, hasn’t stopped the registrations, reaching 1600, exactly 1609 at 6pm today, a record number considering the weather conditions.

The success of the number of registrations has also by far exceeded our expectations: we have over 1600 boats already registered for this re-start edition, an indicator that people want to spend time together and take part in Sunday’s great sea celebration. Now we are ready – concluded Gialuz – for the grand finale of the Barcolana 53”.

THE GREAT SAILORS – Today the solo sailor Giancarlo Pedote “disembarked” at the Barcolana, and presented at the Sea Summit his environmental sustainability projects.
In the evening, the long awaited RoundItaly award ceremony and the meeting with the Olympic Gold Medallists Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti will take place.
