This afternoon saw a strong and wintry Bora, blowing up to 48 knots, equivalent to 86 km/h, during which the Villaggio had to be shut down in order to guarantee safety, while the registered boats were moved to protected moorings. These challenging weather conditions will continue also tomorrow, but should gradually improve between Saturday and Sunday: “The Bora has decided to make itself heard with all its strength today – commented the chairman of the SVBG, Mitja Gialuz – and as sailors we are responding with a constant monitoring of the development of the weather forecast together with the Osmer FVG. Our teams have put boats and structures into safety and have assisted the crews that are sailing up the Adriatic to reach Trieste. Everyone has been fully committed and special thanks go to the law-enforcement, the Civil Protection and all the institutions”. Meanwhile, tomorrow’s Fine Art Sail regatta has been put on hold for the time being, whereas the regattas scheduled for Saturday remain confirmed with the aim of checking the progress of the Bora, expected to gradually decrease on Saturday itself.
