The ladies of the sea of the Barcolana Classic - Siad Cup opened the day with a record-breaking number: 95 charming boats, including Petr Turek’s Mariska, the amazing 12-metre-long international tonnage yacht, which was very much admired and competed with the yachts of the Adriatic tradition. After the parade off Piazza Unità, the regatta had a slow start owing to very light wind at sea. The Mariska won the Epoca class, while Massimo Fonda’s Ciao Pais (STV) came in second and Roberto dal Tio’s Serenity (CV Conegliano) came in third. The Barcolana50 helmed by SVBG vicepresident Alessandro Mulas (SVBG) came in first in the Passere boats class, while the Janega (Guido Villa - STV) came in second, and Pietro Barcia’s legendary Nibbio (STV) finished third. In the Spirit of Barcolana class, the winner was the Bettina (helmed by Enea Riboldi - LNI), followed by Giulia Ascione’s Ostrale (YCA). In the Spirit of Barcolana class 5, the winner was Jurgen Grohmann’s Maj-Britt, followed by Matteo Feruglio’s Un Sogno (STV) and Raimondi’s Elisea (SNG). Silvio Spiraglio’s Maica (YCA) came in first in the 0-2 group, followed by the Galatea III (Vincenzo Antonini - YCA). The Golfo Mistico (Ferruzzi - CVR) won class 4, while Kukururu (Matildi - YCA) finished second, and Palaia Tuche (Sebastiano Chiggiato - CDV) finished third. In the Sciarelli B class, Giulio Villa’s Janega (LNI TS) took first place, followed by Aglaya (Davide Lentini - SNPJ), and Maila Zarattini’s Attica (STV). Davide Battistin’s Tiziana IV (YCA) won the Sciarelli A class, while Elena Galesso’s Auriga (Duino 45N) finished second, and Michele Spongano’s Isabella (Vento di Venezia) finished third. Lastly, Ivan Gardini’s Naif (CVR) won the classic boats class, followed by Niccolò di De Manzini’s Nembo II (YCA), and by Antonio Bandini’s Strale (CVR).
