The regatta bound for Trieste organised by the Sailing Club of Barcola and Grignano and by Ravenna’s Sailing Club came to an end today. The event was an opportunity to turn the journey across the Adriatic Sea towards Trieste into an engaging, unique race. Irina (RYC) came in first in the Overall ranking, followed by Karnak (FSV) and QQ7 (CVR); Irina won the ORC category as well, while QQ7 finished second.
BARCOLANA ONE DESIGN - Mirco Pittarello’s Forever won (1;1;1) the Melges class of the One Design race organised by the Società Nautica Grignano, followed by Alberto Vennuti’s Skorpios (2;2;6), and Massimiliano Antoniazzi (4;7;2). On the other hand, the Meteor class was won by Engy Sailing Team’s Engy (5 points), while Davide Sampiero’s Pekoranera finished second (8 points) and Giacomo Godone’s Jeena finished third (11 points).
BARCOLANA BY NIGHT - SNAM CUP - The Barcolana by Night - Snam Cup was the closing act of the series of related regattas of the Barcolana 54 Presented by Generali. The traditional and very popular night regatta was held in an atmosphere of great celebrations with people crowding the waterfront and the village, which hosted the celebrations on the eve of the Autumn Cup.
COOP FOR THE BARCOLANA - In its contribution to the Barcolana, Coop is committed to sustainability and defending civil rights. To promote civil rights, Coop will participate in the largest regatta in Europe with a female-only sailing team made of 10 Coop employees who love sailing from all over Italy. This Pink Team will be headed by the internationally renowned skipper Francesca Clapcich (assisted by three other professional skippers: Sally Barkow, Cecilia Zorzi and Claudia Rossi). Coop Italia CEO Maura Latini will be on board too. The Barcolana will be an opportunity to draw attention once more to Movimenta’s genitori#allapari petition supported by Coop. The petition aims to extend compulsory paternity leave to up to 3 months and can be signed on change.org.
