The Barcolana’s Wednesday, as per tradition, was for the Barcolana Sea Chef, the event that combines cooking and sailing. Nine chefs, who engaged in the regatta this morning before engaging in cooking, were involved in the project: Salvatore Bianco, Diego Crosara, Iside De Cesare, Franco Favaretto, Terry Giacomello, Alessio Longhini, Matteo Metullio and Davide De Pra, Giancarlo Morelli, and Maria Grazia Soncini. Three races were held, whose winner overall was Giancarlo Morelli, who came in first twice and second once, followed by Iside de Cesare and Salvatore Bianco, who came in fourth, first, and second in the three races respectively. They were followed by the Soncini-Giacomello and the De Pra-Bozzotto crews. The starred dinner will be held in Portopiccolo this evening.
A group of local sailors was on board with the chefs, divided into the four J70 monotype boats used for racing. Mixed crews were thus formed, aiming to bring into the Barcolana Sea Chef the ‘Women in Sailing by Generali and Barcolana’ project, which permeates the entire Barcolana. The sailors were: Jana Germani, bronze medallist at the 49erFX World Championships, Luca De Vidovich, Jamila Cerdeira, Alessio Castellan, Michela Stefani, Luca Centazzo, Sara Zuppin, and Tinej Sterni.
